Who owns your carrier appointments and book?

A Reddit commenter warned that with some aggregators "the carrier appointments are in their name so leaving gets complicated" (source). Here is what each network states.

The plain-English take: There are two different questions. Who owns the book: most networks say you do, but Goosehead's 10-K says Goosehead keeps ultimate ownership of franchisees' policies. Whose code the policy sits under: Ironpeak and SIAA emphasize direct codes, while SIMG and broker-access programs use master or sub-codes. Ask for both answers in writing.
